Oliver Czulo is a professor in Translatology and has specialised in data-informed semantics. He has taught and conducted research in various areas such as corpus-based translation methodology, cognitive semantics and digital processes in translation, and has been an active contributor to Translate Science from the early days. He sees Translatology as a science of mutual understanding.
Headhsot of Oliver'
Lynne Bowker is a certified translator and Full Professor and Canada Research Chair in Translation, Technologies and Society at Université Laval in Canada. She is an advocate for the open movement, having produced a number of Open Educational Resources (OER) on translation and translation tools, including De-mystifying translation: Introducing Translation to Non-translators (Routledge, 2023). She believes that a multilingual scholarly communication eco-system is not only fairer for scientists but can also lead to better quality science and improved uptake of findings by the broader community. She is delighted to have found a like-minded community at Translate Science, where she has participated in webinars and co-delivered workshops intended to help scientists make informed use of translation tools and resources.
